Thank you!

Absolutely! Changes in our eyes occur very gradually. As a consequence, you may not be able to notice these changes. The eye examination not only screens for how well you are seeing, it also screens for signs of eye diseases.

Generally speaking, a child should have their first eye examination between the ages of 2 to 5. The eye exam should be earlier if a problem is noticed.

How often you have an eye exam is dependent on your age and your general health. Below is a recommendation based on age:

  1. Infants (ages 0 – 2) – at any time if you have concerns.
  2. Preschool children (ages 2 – 5) – annually.
  3. School age children (ages 5 – 20) – annually.
  4. Adults (ages 20 – 64) – once every two years.
  5. Senior citizens (ages 65 and older) – annually.

Based upon your medical history and/or your risk of certain diseases, we may recommend for frequent exams.
